This year the Codiac Cyclones are offering 3 Learn to Skate programs to accommodate various ages and skill levels.
The Crawlers: This introductory Learn to skate program for tots and young children is designed for young children not yet ready to skate alone. They normally can’t get up on their own. Parents help their child on the ice (helmets and skates required for both he parent and child) in introduction to basic skating skills by participating in fun activities that include toys and games. Parents must have moderate skating ability and participate with their child for the complete class duration. Only one parent or guardian per child.
The Stompers: This entry level Learn to Skate program is for young beginner children skaters who are capable of going on the ice on their own without accompaniment of a parent. Skaters with no previous skating experience are welcome in this program if they can get up on their skates by themselves. This beginner program provides young children with introduction to basic skating skills through toys and games. Parents are always invited to contribute yet do need to participate on the ice.
The Gliders: This Learn to Skate program is intended for beginners skater of all ages who can stand and step on the ice on their own and who have started to glide. The child will continue their on ice learning which includes forward & backward skating, stopping, turning, spinning, jumping and cross over turning. Parents will be given a list of the skills required for each pin level.
